  1. Grand Palace (Wat Phra Kaew)

The Grand Palace is one of the main attractions of Bangkok. It was built in 1782 and was home to the King for 150 years. The Grand Palace has a beautiful architecture, formed by the creativity and craftmanship of the Thai People.
Inside the Palace are many impressive buildings, like the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, also called Wat Phra Kaew. In it is the Emerald Buddha, dating back to the 14th century.
Thai Kings stopped living in the palace around the turn of the twentieth century, but the palace complex is still used to mark all kinds of other ceremonial and auspicious happenings.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
For people who want to enter the Palace, a strict dress code applies. The Grand Palace with The Temple of the Emerald Buddha is Thailand's most sacred site. Visitors must be properly dressed before being allowed entry to the temple. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeves (no tank tops. If you're wearing sandals or flip-flops you must wear socks (in other words, no bare feet.) Women must be similarly modestly dressed. No see-through clothes, bare shoulders, etc. If you show up at the front gate improperly dressed, there is a booth near the entrance that can provide clothes to cover you up properly (a deposit is required).

People who do not dress properly, will not be allowed to enter the temple!

  1. Rose Garden Riverside – Your Escape From Bangkok

The Rose Garden Story:

A famous botanist told me, ‘Oh, I like it so much. It’s like time has stopped.’”

Suchada Yuvaboon (left) with her son Arrut Navaraj

Picture it. A tropical garden beside the Ta Chine river. A timeless collection of natural and cultural gems.

Freed from the vagaries of fashion and fads, The Rose Garden Riverside is a living gallery of Traditional Thai Living. The 70-acre property is one family’s unique vision of Thailand - and the product of more than 40 years of care and creativity.

Three generations have created this riverside oasis and the perfect hub for discovering Thailand. From here, you are just 1 hour from Bangkok - yet you feel miles apart. As director Arrut Navaraj says, traditional Thai Living recalls less complicated times. “How we live here is a glimpse into the way Thai people used to live, and how a community works.”

The Rose Garden is Thailand the way it used to be - and perhaps the way it should be today.
